Hello from Istanbul, where it's day 3. Loving the city, very active day 1, then jet lag hit us yesterday and we were lazy. Have been to the gym already this morning (it's 8am), and came back to the room to wake Kristin up.
How is Dozer? All has been quiet on the blog recently - I can't believe there's no Dozer news?!
That morning we got up early and went down to the beach for some play time!! I didn't read my horoscope that day, but if I did it would have said it was a good day! Cause I found a brand new toy on the beach!!! I also had a ball and it was really hard to decide which one to play with. FauxMama will take a picture of my new toy the TireBiter. Its really heavy but I love it anyway! Its soo versatile. You can fetch it. You can play tug-o-war with it. You can run around with it. You can fetch it. I just love it!
While the Fauxs were cleaning up the Beach House I got one of my first emails from my parents!! I love mail!! Yay!!

Subject: Hi from Istanbul
Hey- Crappy internet connection and we keep getting kicked off but wanted to say a quick Hi and see how you and the Dozer were doing? Hope all is going well and kitties are still enjoying their new game! xoxo
The thoughts of my parents having a good trip helped me get through the next several hours of our drive home. Boy was it long!! First we stopped at the airport to pick someone up...As if we weren't already cozy we were now REAL cozy! So we were all loaded up in Grandma Gold FauxGma's Lexus. FauxMama calls it GmaGold cause its super Gold and it is HUGE! Its looks like something a Grandma would drive! And FauxGma is much to hip too be driving a Grandma ride! I digress. We hit the road at 5pm, in hindsight not the best time to hit the 101 on a 3 day weekend...it was slow. And hot. And slow.
We finally made it to Hanford, but since we have to be back in Hanford the next morning early we decided to just stay! In a normal house this would be fine, but if you don't remember the Fauxs are remodeling their house, and well its a mess. I can't even describe it, just check out our sleeping conditions for yourself....There was one more issue with the sleeping conditions...there was a cat in my room...YEP a cat! Not a real one. But one in a picture! I was not okay with it. I mean who would torture me like this. Kitties are my nemesis. They will haunt me in my dreams...I cannot sleep under these conditions!! I mean look at the black cat staring down on me....ugh...I think I should be nicer to Kitties, yes, maybe I will be nicer to Kitties. Well, only if they don't run! We all managed to sleep through the night. Safely. And no Kitties got me while I slept, LUCKILY!
Note from FauxMama: It is clear that Mosley does not like chotchkies!! I love it!! This is one dog with taste!
Saturday morning, we woke up to nothing to do in Clovis, so we decided to pack things up and head to Avila Beach with FauxGpa. (I mean FauxMama had several options, but I wasn't invited to any of the options, and she really wanted to spend the holiday with me!) It was a very spontaneous decision, and we (and by we I mean FauxMama) may have left several things at FauxMama's house...My Blueblood collar (which by the way, I am the model on their home page right now!!), my prong collar, my Nutro Lamb and Rice, and Frisbee!! Luckily FauxGma had an extra Blueblood collar, Farm Supply in San Luis Obispo had my Nutro Lamb and Rice, I found a new toy on the beach, and I was pretty well behaved!!
It was kinda a long drive to Avila Beach, okay not that long, but I was eager to get there!! I was a little worried there wasn't going to be a lot for me to do in Avila, but boy was I wrong!! The minute I got out of the car, I saw a worthy opponent for good game of RUN KITTY RUN!! GAME ON! Once again, I LET the Kitty win!! Yay Right! Why are they so quick!!! FauxMama was bit surprised that I was so quick to play RUN KITTY RUN, after an incident earlier in the day in Hanford...I found a Kitty that was NOT interested in RUN KITTY RUN, so I cornered her, hoping that getting her in an arena would convince her to play, yeah she didn't really like that either...we had a bit spat, I yelled, she growled, I yelled some more, and then she told me with the swat of her paw, "You shut your mouth when you are talking to me!!" (A classic quote from the movie Wedding Crashers). Despite some stinging and discomfort, I was not going to let a little scratch hold me back! Apparently there are KITTIES EVERYWHERE to play RUN KITTY RUN with!!!
While checking the house out, I noticed this really bizarre thing. I tried to check it out, but it was SUPER scary. I mean is it a woman? Nope, no breasts, and its pretty ugly. Is it a fish? It has a tail, but I've never seen a fish with arms, and a ponytail! FauxMama tried to explain that it is a chachkie. And although incredibly strange, absolutely harmless!! I didn't really believe her, so FauxMama offered this chachkie fellow a relocation package and it split town! Thank goodness because it was NOT welcome and I let it know!!
After not settling into the Avila house, we went down to this park to play a little Frisbee!! Clovis needs to take some notes. First, this park in their backyard! I can't go there by myself, but we just walked under the house and there we were...beautiful grass, lots trees, tons of bushes...ALL green!! It was heaven!! Clovis are you taking notes?? Actually SF Park and Rec are YOU taking notes?? Portland you may as well get in on this schooling as well!!
After a long day of travel, chachkies, and frisbee, we finally hit the hay...
Macy and I weren't really sure where FauxMama was going to sleep, there wasn't really room for all three of us. And the bed was so comfy, Macy and I we were NOT moving!
There was talk of Beach time the next day, we needed to rest up! I LOVE beach time!!!
AM: I ate all kibble AND my Dasuquin.
PM: I ate all my kibble. Macy is still on a restricted diet! This girl has to learn!!
Sore: I don't know!
We cruised down Mosley style as always!! We had to be there super early, because FauxMama was meeting Jon Casey Construction at the house at 8am! They were going to rip out this tile in FauxGma and FauxGpa's entry way. About the time that they started them demo, an earthquake started!! It was super mild, but it was really loud. Louder than any earthquake I remember...and I live in San Francisco, so I have lived through a few! I suggested to FauxMama that we get in a safe spot...but she didn't really seemed that concerned. Maybe it wasn't an earthquake. Maybe it was Jon Casey Construction jack hammering out the tile! Woof, I will protect her!
She is really growing on me! But don't tell her!
Anyways, FauxMama was trying to get schooled in Photoshop, so that she could help me make my blog better! She was finding it difficult to listen to her instructor Mr. B.G. Bottles and focus on the class with the rattling floor and the intense noise, so we moved to the safest, quietest space in the house! FauxGma's closet!! And it has brand new hardwood floors! I actually think that I am the first dog to lay on them! They are really nice. I protected FauxMama while she continued her lessons.
After several hours of earthquakes in Hanford, we headed back to Clovis. FauxMama had some friends coming into town for the 4th of July weekend and she was meeting up with them at some joint called Dog House Grill. This sounds like a place that I should be going to!! And like a place I would love!!! Apparently they have great Tri-Tip sandwiches and Fries...Wait, so why was I not invited??? Oh well, I was pretty beat from a big week in a new town so I laid low! Next trip to Dog House Grill, and I am THERE! Yummy Tri-Tip!
AM: I ate all kibble AND my Dasuquin.
PM: I ate all my kibble. Macy is on restricted diet!
Sore: It looks the same!
On Thursday Night (July 1st, 2010) my new BFF Gracie came over for Game Night!! I BOOF Game Night! As I mentioned in 2010 World Pup, Gracie has been a bit unsure of me and my smart mouth. But she is getting used to me and we are having a ton of fun together!! I have even taught her to use her BOOF!! And she is still trying to teach me to Spider Monkey but I'm a little unsure of it! Check out the pics and movies from our Game Night!
GAME ON!
I think I have talked about this in the past (Mr. Mosley Goes to Clovis) Macy is NOT a big gamer! But with all her friends playing she decided she wanted in on the action. Not she is playing with a Chewy Vuitton, what a girl!!
Check out the film of our play!
Ugh!! That is tough work!! I'm beat!!
No I'm NOT!! WoooHooo! ROUND 2!! P.S. Macy is the WORST referee!! Check it out!
After AT LEAST two hours of play we needed to take a break!! I decided to take a little break on FauxMama's white Crate and Barrel sofa. Luckily, it's slip covered! I thought it would be nice to hang out and watch 27 Dresses!! Gracie had a little canoodling in mind...
Unfortunately all of my posts are a day off. And I am not exactly sure how to change their posting date. So maybe just be advised!! Ugh!! Oh and I have not posted in several days. WOOF!! I have loyal followers that are counting on my posts!! And have let me know!! I promise today I will get to Friday, and then 4th of July weekend!! And today!! I will catch up!!!
I am really EXHAUSTED today. I was soooo tired I didn't even wake up FauxMama for my breakfast at 6am, like I have done the rest of the week. How do these professional swimmers/divers do it?? Ugh. I even took a nap after breakfast while FauxMama was getting ready for our trip to Hanford. I didn't even have the energy to ride Mosley Style with my head out the window!! I am not sure I have it in me today for Swim/Dive practice, let alone RUN KITTY RUN!!
I was wrong!! I DO have energy for RUN KITTY RUN!! Unfortunately for me, and fortunately for the Kitties, I couldn't find anyone to play RUN KITTY RUN! UGH. So FauxMama and I played ball instead, while we waited for one of contractors to show up. There was a bit of a discrepancy over the ball I was playing with today....Twinkie, didn't like me playing with HER tennis ball. First of all, she's can barely hold it, and her running with it look extremely difficult...that being said, she STOLE it several times. The theft was accompanied by an assault, I know what your thinking, what could that little pint sized stickless mop do to me...and your right. However she CAN make a very shrilling of a bark, and nip at my ankles!! I gave her a polite little warning, BACK OFF. And then she did it again. First the THEFT, then the assault, but this time it escalated a bit, Twink would not BACK OFF, so I had to get a little verbal with her, until FauxGma called her off. I was a perfect gentlemen, she just told her she needs to steer clear of MY ball!! BOOF!
We had a quite a few visitors today, the contractor, the painter, the flooring peeps, the UPS man. I am not really a big fan of these people coming and going as they please. They need to check in with me!! I told them. Boof! I especially don't like them getting too close to FauxMama! Boof! Boof!!
While I dictated the beginning of my day to FauxMama, my GMumP instant messaged us to see how life was treating us!! Although excited to hear from GMumP in the UK, I was still so exhausted from Olympic training, I could barely move. So FauxMama read to me what GMumP was saying! She said that she is very excited to see my Mama and my Papa in two weeks. She also said she is taking my cousins to Legoland Windsor, I think that sounds like a ton of fun. I think if I went to Legoland Windsor, I would mark everything MINE, then I would own Legoland. And my cousins could go whenever they wanted!! I have never met my cousins but they seem like a REALLY GOOD TIME!! I hope that GMumP will bring them to visit us after we move to Portland.
I really didn't move from the position shown for most of the day. I did for a bit help FauxGpa assess the side of the Hanford house where there appears to be some moisture getting into the foundation, which could compromise the new hardwood floors. I marked it mine, to help out! In between helping, I was busy looking for a worthy opponent for RUN KITTY RUN! But I couldn't find one. Where have all the kitties gone? Why don't they want to play?
After our long day we came home to Clovis, and had Gracie and Elizabeth Swann over for dinner and play. Gracie and I get along fabulously now! We play tug-o-war with my Frisbee, tackle, and occasionally a mean game of chase. I really like her, I have taught her to speak up about what she wants and she has taught me that it is okay to play with big dogs!!! That if we all play fair it can be a ton of fun!! I really wish I could taker her swimming at FauxGma and FauxGpa's house in Hanford!! It would be soo much fun!!!
I'm pretty beat!! I have to get to bed now!
AM: I ate all kibble AND my Dasuquin..
PM: I ate all my kibble. Macy did not, she ate too many apples off the ground in Hanford, her tummy hurts! AGAIN!
Stool: Still loose.
Sore: Well despite the thought that the lower wound had gotten worse today it looks AMAZING!! It is WAY smaller and scabbed up nicely. FauxMama and I did NOT see that one coming! SEE swimming is GOOD for me!!! FauxMama put another call into Dr. Moran, just to confirm. And when Dr. Moran called back he said I can't swim anymore! BOOOOOO!!!! See Mosely Kilshaw's Olympic Aquatic Career put on Hold!
Dr. Moran just phone FauxMama, and he said that they haven't been able to determine the origin nor the strain of the infection in my leg, but is confident we are headed in the right direction. He said we will continue with all medications and re-asses thing in one week. Great news!! But he did mention that I will need to put on hold on my Olympic aspirations until this is cleared up!! Boo! I am not happy!!!
Well we started our day with another fun car ride to Hanford!! Mosley Style!! Sunroof open windows down! Apparently FauxMama's window regulator went out on Betsey Beamer, so we didn't really have a choice that the window was down. It was my window so I didn't really care!!! Once in Hanford we had to immediately go down to the car repair place to have the window fixed, that's cool!! The guys at J & T Motors were super cool. Apparently one guys used to be a bird dog trainer. He said a few weeks with him, and it would no longer be a game of RUN KITTY RUN! It would be SORRY KITTY SORRY!
FauxMama decided after lunch that we would take a little "walk" around FauxGma's yard. Its kinda like being in a park!! BUT WAY BETTER!! We played some Frisbee, and then I show some real potential in the pool! I know I wasn't supposed to go in... because of my leg. But it was SUPER HOT in Hanford, 103 degrees!! So I HAD to go in!! I had to make sure Frisbee didn't over heat!!
First Frisbee and I just hung out on the first step...But I kept dropping Frisbee on the second step...and in my attempts to get it, I pushed it onto the third step. Which is much too deep for me to stand on, let alone put my head under water to get Frisbee. Although I did try!!
I need to make some observations here: Up until this point in my life, I have not really spent that much time in a pool. It's mostly been the ocean, since NO ONE has a pool in the city. Let me list some Pros and Cons...
OCEAN POOL
Pros Cons Pros Cons
In SF Bacteria No Bacteria Not in SF
Helps bring Can take your You don't It doesn't
your Frisbee Frisbee out to lose Frisbee help you
back to you. sea. to the tide. get your ball.
Okay let's get to the fun part!!! So after playing FRISBEE STEP FRISBEE, I decided to take the plunge and try out for the Olympic diving team. Please note these recordings are only my best, and I still have lots of practice ahead of me!
Diving from the First Step!!
Diving from the 2nd Step!!
THAT'S WHAT I AM BOOF-ING ABOUT!!
The Low Dive, with perfect form! Assisting me is FauxGma, occasionally referred to as Golden Retriever, when she has to retrieve Frisbee from the bottom of the pool! Frisbee only floats when handled properly!!
PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!! This is for professionals only!! THE OLYMPIC HIGH DIVE
Again I am assisted by FauxGma/Golden Retriever!
After all this fun in the sun, we headed home to Clovis. We arrived to a house that had had NO air conditioning for what appeared to be most of the day (based on the temperature of the house)! FauxMama was a bit on edge, I could see the steam coming from her ears!! I mean poor thing, first the air in her car, then the window, then the house air conditioner, I am not sure she can take much more...But after brief call to her Papa, FauxGpa suggested she check the breaker. I accompanied her to A. make sure there were no pesky KITTIES and B. to show her my support. Luckily FauxGpa was right! It was the circuit breaker! A HUGE relief came over all of us. It was going to be a HOT time in the OLD town tonight with no air!!!
It was finally cooling down....
FauxMama served dinner and then was headed off to a dinner party. It was a HUGE day, and I was really glad when FauxMama left for her dinner party. That meant that Macy and I had the place to ourselves. Peace and quiet. Although Macy was feeling quite ill again after a binge of apples (we think)!! I was loving life!!
AM: I ate all kibble AND my Dasuquin.
PM: I ate all my kibble. Macy did not, she ate too many apples off the ground in Hanford, her tummy hurts!
Stool: Still loose.
Sore: Hmmmm. I don't think the swimming was a good idea! The sore closest to my foot has opened up a bit, but there is no drainage. We put medicine on!! FauxMama called Dr.Moran to get the test results and make sure that she's not going to have Staph from swimming with me. But he was out today, and will be in tomorrow. She said she will touch base with him tomorrow.
I had a bit of a rough night last night. I got a little sick on FauxMama's carpet. I felt so bad, I tried to clean it up, but I didn't know where the Resolve was so I didn't so a very good job. FauxMama helped me out with the Resolve. Its all clean now.
Then my day brightened up!!! I met Gracie, a 3 year old black lab. Our relationship got of on the wrong paw, I was a little aggressive for her taste. I didn't actually hurt her, I was just a little vocal in telling her that I wanted to play!! Once she realized that I had a big bark, and no bite, it was GAME ON!!!
FauxMama, Macy, and Elizabeth Swann (Gracie's Mama) all cheered us on from the sidelines while watching the World Cup! I must say I have found myself a worthy adversary. That girl is quick on her feet, and does this "spider monkey" move where she runs through the house and then uses a sofa as a back stop to stop her momentum. I'm not really comfortable with her doing that, as I'm not allow on the furniture at my house. But I do like that she bounces back into action!!! It was a fun afternoon!!
When we got home FauxMama had some chores to do, apparently in Clovis you have mow the lawn. I don't really get it, I thought the parks department took care of that....Anyway I decided to help her. And by help I mean claiming the bushes in her yard and her neighbor's yard, mine! Then I found one of my favorite new games in the bushes!! RUN KITTY RUN!!! I chased that cat ALL the way home!! Boof!
(Note from FauxMama: Although this seems unsafe, for both Mosley and for the Kitty, I promise you it was safe!!! And I have to admit that I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE of the chase. That cat uses MY house for his litter box all the time!! Kitty there's a new Sheriff in town! MOSLEY!)
After the game of RUN KITTY RUN, we went to the "park" in FauxMama's neighborhood for a little game of Frisbee. Again Clovis' definition of a park is weak! It was itty bitty! But I still got in a several great Frisbee catches!! It was again SILLY hot in Clovis today, so I am now chilling in the air conditioned house, resting after another big day in the sticks!
I wonder what tomorrow will bring? I think we are going to Hanford again!!!
AM: I ate all kibble but not my Dasuquin.
PM: I ate all my kibble and my Dasuquin.
Stool: Still LOOSE.
Sore: Appears to be smaller. The two little ones still appear to be almost gone. And the scab on the larger one is much smaller, although there is still a bit of inflammation.
Today FauxMama, Macy, and I went to this park looking thing...You be the judge!!
I don't really think it looks like a park. There is always strange stuff in the SF parks, but never tires and piles of wood. Despite the unconventionality, I did enjoy smelling everything! And in this picture on the right I look like a real hunting lab!! Come on Fresno and Clovis get some better Dog Parks!!
Note from FauxMama: I will agree that we need MORE dog parks. But I was smelling some foul smells in the car and decided it was better for my car if we stop to let the offender take care of business, so we stopped at the first available field. I am not sure who was to blame, because both dogs had some pretty loose business!! And my car was saved!!
Today we went to Hanford, CA...Have you ever been there? Not such a bad place!!
FauxMama's parents are remodeling their house, and FauxMama is helping out. So we will be going down there quite a bit in the next few weeks. Its about a 55 minute commute to the Hanford house, with the sunroof open, and windows down!! This is traveling Mosley Style! Once we arrived it was a bit chaotic. FauxGma and FauxGpa have two dogs, one that is a Westie, Maddie, and one that appears to be a stickless mop, Twinkie. Clearly the name says it all!! Twinkie isn't a huge fan of me! I'm a bit big for her liking! That's okay, I think she is a bit small, and I don't really care about her! Actually later in the day I thought for a brief moment she was a cat, until she let out her high squawk of a bark!! When we arrived I was so torn whether to follow FauxMama or explore. It was really overwhelming!! FauxMama had a quick meeting before being able to give me a tour of the grounds, I had to wait outside. I have decided I don't really like to wait outside. I let FauxMama know by barking at the back door!!
For years I have thought I was a big toughie!! It turns out that just like every other 21 year old guy, I am insecure!! Who knew?? I mean I have never really been left alone outside. I am always accompanied by my posse, my Mama or my Papa!! And being outside alone is kinda unnerving!
During the tour of the property I realized, I could really like this place. There were LOTS of trees for me to claim, a pool that I will dive into another day, and a fun new game "Run Kitty Run!" Turns out I'm good at this game, but the Kitties are better at this game!! Both Kitties I played scored by running up a tree! Ugh! I haven't really figured out how I score, but I am REALLY sure that Kitties have home court advantage!!
We took several car rides today apparently FauxMama's air conditioner went out in her car. Seriously it was the WORST day for that to happen, its 108 degrees in the Valley today!!! REALLY!!! So we had to have it fixed, then take FauxGma to Physical Therapy Unlimited, Starbucks, and Union Bank. Physical Therapy Unlimited even let me wait inside for FauxGma to be done!! Did you know that there is drive through banking in Hanford. It's brilliant!!! Bank from your air conditioned car, yes please!! I enjoyed our errands, I got a ton of attention. I am not sure that Hanford-ites are used to seeing 80lb dogs in public places. But I was the perfect ambassador!!
Oh and I saw two 1,200lb dogs today!! I barked at them to let them know, I WAS BOSS!! I even tried to smell one of their back ends while FauxMama fed them. But FauxMama was very adamant about me staying out of their kennel! So I did. She tried to explain that they were horses, I was like yeah a horse of dog!!
AM: I ate all kibble but 5 and my Dasuquin.
PM: Left about 20 kibble. And still didn't eat my Dasuquin.
Stool: LOOSE
Sore: Appears to be smaller. The two little ones are almost gone. And the scab on the larger one is much smaller, although there is still a bit of inflammation.
Well my family is off to Turkey and I am off to Clovis! Today my Mama and my Papa loaded up all of my prize possessions, my Frisbee, my Blueblood bed, my food, and my medications, into my Mama's friend's car. I will refer to her as FauxMama for the next few weeks as she will be caring for me! I have known FauxMama for several years, and for the most part I like her. She doesn't let me get away with things, so she's not that much fun, but otherwise she talks to me, loves on me, and plays with me, so I guess she is okay! She also has Macy, a friend of mine. A little black pug, Macy isn't really that much fun either because she doesn't really play but she is a nice companion and she will have my back in a brawl!
The car ride was a little long to Clovis, and Macy stole my bed in the backseat. I was a little unsure about our adventure and couldn't really get comfortable. I tried the backseat for awhile and then thought the front seat may be better. Let's just say BMW 323's are not made for 80lb labs!
Plus I have this sore on my leg, and it itches, so I want to lick it!! But this silly BiteNot collar kept getting in my way!
We finally arrived in Clovis, at FauxMama's house!!! And her house was HOT!! Do you know how hot it gets in Clovis in the summer?? HOLY Frisbees it was HOT!! It was 100 degrees!! Thank goodness for air conditioners!! While the house was cooling down I inspected the place I will call home for the next few weeks! I have been here before, but I am not sure what type of changes have taken place since I was last here. It appears that there are some new bushes in the backyard. I marked them, MINE!
After dinner we retired for the evening. As you can tell Macy and I were beat!! I am not really sure where FauxMama thought she was sleeping but, clearly it wasn't with us!! So far I like Clovis!!
